Katie Albright began dancing at the age of 2. Her competition career began on the KAR stage at age 4. She has earned 33 regional dance titles, is a five-time national solo champion and won the KAR Elite Miss Teen Dance America title in 2020. Katie trains in all styles of dance at The Element Dance Center in La Mesa, California (a long-time DAC Hope Studio) where she has been on the competition team for the last 14 years. Katie is currently in her second season as a KAR Protégé Performer. She loves traveling the country making new dance friends and inspiring others with her passion for dance and giving back. She is a proud member of the American Tap Company and competed twice at the IDO World Tap Championships in Germany (the Olympics of dance) where she earned 3 silver medals for Team USA. Katie also trains in Latin and American Smooth ballroom styles at Step 2 Dance in San Diego. She is a two-time world champion in Latin ballroom dance. In addition to dance, Katie also enjoys pageants which are a great way to showcase Katie’s dance talent and provide a platform for her philanthropic contributions. Katie began competing in pageants at age 2 and has held numerous international, national and regional titles. Katie was crowned International Cinderella Miss in 2018 and currently holds these titles: 2022-23 California Cinderella Teen, 2023 International Cinderella Teen Talent and 2023 AAMTC Talent of the Year. She is an active volunteer with Dancers Against Cancer, Feeding America and the American Heart Association. A professional model and actress since the age of 3, Katie has appeared on TV, in commercials, public service announcements, and magazines, on runways and numerous toy and costume packages. Katie is a senior in high school at The Cambridge School where she is a student leader and maintains a 4.0+ GPA. Her favorite subjects include history, literature, varsity debate and Greek. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, singing and frequent visits to Disneyland. Katie is 17 years old and resides in San Diego, California. She plans to dance her way through college and attend law school.
Katie has been an active advocate and volunteer for Dancers Against Cancer since 2014. DAC has been her primary platform since 2017. She has raised awareness when speaking publicly about this cause and reached tens of thousands of followers of her various social media accounts. Katie has raised thousands of dollars through the years with pirouette-athons and raffle ticket sales. She attended the 2018 and 2022 Industry Dance Awards and was honored to dance live at the 2022 IDA event in Hollywood. Katie was proud to be part of the cast of the 2022 DAC public service announcement starring Derek Hough. Katie has several dance friends and teammates who are Hope Stories and knows first-hand how important the mission and impact of DAC are. The dance community is a family of passionate, talented people committed to their craft. Dancers Against Cancer provides opportunities for the dance community to unite and support those in need. Katie is thrilled to be a DAC Princess and continue working to bridge the dance community and pageant world in expanding the scope and support provided by Dancers Against Cancer.
