DAC PRINCESS EMMA GRACE HUSKINS

My name is Emma Grace Huskins. I am 12 years old and I am in the 7th grade at Cramerton Middle School. I live in Gastonia, NC.

It is an honor and privilege to be a DAC Princess. I have been a dancer since the age of 3. I dance at Dance Specialties in Belmont, NC. I participate in the Cinderella scholarship pageant system. In 2020, I was crowned the NC Cinderella Ambassador and in 2021 I was crowned the NC Cinderella State Miss. I love this system and all that it stands for. It has helped form me into the young lady I am today.

My goal with being a DAC Princess is to make others aware of the needs that cancer patients and their families have. Several years ago, I formed a diaper drive for a little baby girl named Lilly that went to my church who developed cancer only when she was a few months old. She was in the hospital and she was allergic to the brand of diapers they used. Her parents were having to go purchase the diapers for her to wear in the hospital. I wanted to help them because they should not have to worry about doing that. They needed to be with her as much as they could. I collected diapers, money and gift cards to help them.

Several members of my family have passed away with different types of cancer. I want to help as many families as I can.

My goal is to raise as much as possible for this amazing program that gives back to the extended community. I look forward to being a DAC Princess this year.
