A heartfelt message from Chryssie:

In October, I was invited to the Industry Dance Awards hosted by Dancers Against Cancer in Los Angeles. I had never heard of this organization till I began working for KAR and I was deeply moved.  I met the most resilient people who shared their fight and triumphs with cancer.

WHY THIS BENEFIT CLASS?

That night, I witnessed mine and Alexis’s friend & teaching colleague, Donyelle Jones, pour her heart out on her time in and out of treatment and hospitals. One of our dearest BAC Mentee and friend, @legna along with another College Prep Mentee both have mom’s fighting cancer..  I lost my late cheerleader manager, Joan Sittenfield, way too early to bone cancer who started in this business as a dancer.

My boss, Noah Lands is one remarkable human being who deeply cares about his people who started this foundation. He even has enrolled dance studios across the country to become hope studios where they dance in their community for fundraising. Some studios have raised $20 - $50,000. All of the proceeds go directly to dancers with cancer. This includes every age at any stage. Dance Studio owners, this is an invitation for you. 

This BAC's Sacred Space is for my manager who had only her brother and best friend with her at the very end of her life, no support, no aid, no community. 

This Sacred Space is for Donyelle Jones. A beacon of light and strength and one heck of a dancer, herself.
