MASTERCLASS:

As an Acro Arts Certified instructor with a deep understanding of proper technique, Lauren will guide a 1.5-hour Technique Masterclass. She will guide both dancers and teachers through the fundamentals of safely executing tricks while maintaining strong, controlled movement. In this class, you’ll learn how to rehearse acro skills with precision, ensuring that each movement is executed with correct form and safety in mind. Lauren’s emphasis will be on building strength, body awareness, and alignment, so dancers can perform advanced tricks without compromising their technique. This masterclass is ideal for dancers looking to improve their acro skills and for teachers who want to enhance their ability to train students in a safe and effective way.

BIO:

LAUREN MANGANO CALLAHAN... A Massachusetts native, is the proud owner and director of Elite Academy of Dance in Shrewsbury, MA. She is a veteran judge with 20 years experience serving on panel for several national dance competitions throughout the USA and Canada. An honors graduate from Dean College, she received her Bachelors Degree in Dance with a graduate focus in Pedagogy, Composition, and Creative Movement. Lauren’s background includes Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary Performance, Repertory Performance, Rhythmic Exploration, and a Concentration in Vaganova and Horton Technique.

Lauren is Alixa Flexibility certified, and was the first teacher and director in Massachusetts to become Acro Arts Certified. You can find her students performing professionally all over the world live on stage and on the big screen! Credits include; Frozen, Finding Neverland, The Radio City Christmas and Spring Spectacular, Elf, Billy Elliot, Kinky Boots, SNL, Who’s Tommy?, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, So you think you can Dance, New England Patriots Cheerleaders, Celtics Dancers, Disney, Royal Caribbean Cruise line, and more! Lauren and her faculty were honored to win in the Musical Theatre category at the 2024 Industry Dance Awards in Hollywood, California. Lauren currently serves on board of the Miss Massachusetts America organization as choreographer for the state pageant. Lauren is the proud mother of her 5 year old daughter “CJ” and is thrilled to be here sharing the love of dance with you and your dancers!
